Chelsea names the little boat her grandfather made for her Fairy Boat. She launches it in a nearby stream and imagines that the fairies will protect it as it makes its way to the sea. Kane's muted pastel paintings illustrate the small vessel's journey and show the dangers caused by otters, geese, and other creatures along the way.
